493705 Brass Thrust Washer

Third of three bags in the same hand written family that came off the shelf together. 493705 is written in marker on the part, there is no printed label, and there is nothing else on the bag. Inside is one brass thrust washer, roughly 95 mm across the outside, with a single locating tab in the bore and faint stamped characters on the washer face that we could not read clearly through the bag.

Thrust washers like this take axial load between a rotating and a stationary face and are sized in specific thicknesses, so the number matters more than the look. Brass and bronze are chosen because they wear in preference to the steel around them, which makes the washer the cheap sacrificial part in the stack. The tab keys it so it cannot spin.
