Genuine Donaldson P605536 PowerCore Obround Primary Air Filter

Sealed Donaldson Filtration Solutions carton, part number P605536, sub code P605536-016-140, barcode 742330162156, quantity one, made in Mexico, date stamped 09 MAR 19. Donaldson themselves catalogue it as AIR FILTER, PRIMARY OBROUND, built on their PowerCore media platform.

PowerCore is not a conventional pleated element. Instead of folded paper it uses a layered fluted media pack, which fits far more filter area into an obround housing than pleats can, and the flutes are sealed alternately so dirty air is forced through the media rather than around it. The practical result on a tractor or a wheeled machine is a much smaller air cleaner box for the same service life, and the practical result of buying a genuine Donaldson pack is that the flute seals and the end gasket are the ones the housing was designed around. A copied PowerCore that leaks at the sealing face is worse than no filter at all, because you will not see it on a restriction gauge.
