Genuine Fleetguard AF25491 Air Filter | Donaldson P777639 | Baldwin RS3885 | JCB Komatsu Volvo

Genuine Fleetguard AF25491 Air Filter

Photographed on our own shelf in Prince George, still in the sealed Fleetguard carton. The factory label reads PART NUMBER (1P) AF-25491, description AIR FILTER, quantity 1, supplier FLTGR, origin Made in FRANCE, date code 08197-1203. Everything stated here comes off that label rather than a catalogue guess.

This is the secondary, or inner, element that sits inside the primary filter in a two stage air cleaner. Its job is not to do the bulk filtering. Its job is to be the last line of defence for the turbo and the cylinder bores on the day the primary gets damaged, gets installed crooked, or gets knocked loose during a service. That is why the inner element should be replaced on a schedule even when it still looks clean, and why it should never be blown out with shop air.

• Genuine Fleetguard, Cummins Filtration, in the original sealed carton
