Genuine Fleetguard FF42000 User Friendly Fuel Filter | UL 1105 Marine Approved

Genuine Fleetguard FF42000 User Friendly Fuel Filter

The print on this one is worth reading in full: Fleetguard, OEM Approved, UL 1105 Marine Approved, High Performance, 4990879, USER FRIENDLY FILTER, MADE IN USA.

UL 1105 is the marine fire safety standard for fuel filters. A filter carrying that approval has been tested to survive a two and a half minute fire without leaking fuel, which is why it is mandatory on gasoline marine installations and specified on plenty of diesel ones. If your application calls for a UL 1105 rated filter, an ordinary spin-on is not a legal substitute no matter how well it fits.

The User Friendly design also means the housing drains before you open it, so a filter change in an engine bay does not end with diesel in the bilge.
