Genuine Hyundai 31KK-00110 Hydraulic Tank Breather Element | HD Hyundai Construction Equipment

Genuine Hyundai 31KK-00110 Element

An HD Hyundai Construction Equipment genuine parts box, hologram present, printed simply as ELEMENT, made in China, 1 EA. Hyundai catalogues this 31KK number as a hydraulic tank breather element, which is the part that filters the air drawn into the reservoir as the cylinders stroke.

It is the cheapest filter on the machine and the one most often ignored. Every litre of oil that leaves the tank pulls a litre of outside air in behind it, and on a landing or a haul road that air is loaded with dust. Skip this element and you are effectively running an unfiltered inlet straight into clean oil.

Worth knowing

• Change it on the same schedule as the return element, not on a longer one.
• A collapsed or plugged breather pulls the reservoir into vacuum and starves the charge pump.
• Genuine media is rated for the tank breathing rate on these machines rather than being a generic vent cap insert.
