Genuine Hyundai 31LM-40090 Pilot Safety Filter Element

Genuine Hyundai Construction Equipment carton, hologram on the label. The label reads 31LM-40090, description ELEMENT-PILOT SAFETY, packing code XK13 D1 QCD1 H05E08A1, one each, made in Germany.

Worth flagging: our catalog previously described this number as a hydraulic return line filter. The box says pilot safety element, which is a different job, so we have corrected the part type to match the label.

What it does

• Filters the pilot circuit, the low pressure oil that carries joystick and pedal commands to the main valve spools.
• Safety element construction, so it keeps protecting the circuit even if the primary element is damaged or missed at service.
• Pilot valve orifices are tiny, so a single particle here shows up as a sticky or unresponsive control rather than as a leak.
• Genuine element, so the media rating and seat geometry are what the loader was designed around.
