Genuine Hyundai 15KA-71040 Fuel Pre-Filter Element | HX130A HX140A HX160A HL930A HW Series

Genuine Hyundai 15KA-71040 Fuel Pre-Filter Element

Genuine Hyundai Construction Equipment stock, in the Hyundai Core Motion box with the genuine parts hologram intact. The label reads part number 15KA-71040, description ELEMENT-PRE FUEL, codes VH17 and G05C01A1, one each, made in the USA.

Pre-fuel is the job, not a brand name. This element is the first filter the diesel meets after the tank, and its work is water and coarse dirt, not the fine polishing the secondary filter does. On common rail Hyundai engines that first stage is what stands between a tank of bad fuel and an injector bill, so it is not a part to substitute casually.

What it does

• Separates water out of the diesel before it can reach the injection pump.
• Removes coarse particulate so the secondary filter is not overloaded.
• Serves as the first stage in a two stage Hyundai fuel filtration setup.
