Genuine Hyundai 15KA-72040 Pre-Fuel Filter Element
Sealed Hyundai Construction Equipment carton, label reading 15KA-72040 ELEMENT - PRE FUELFILTER, reference WK14 A1 and batch H0307E02, made in the Republic of Korea, genuine parts hologram present. This is the primary stage element in the fuel water separator assembly, the one that sees raw tank fuel before anything reaches the fine filter or the injection pump.
A pre-filter element is a cheap part protecting a very expensive one. Modern common rail pumps and injectors run tolerances measured in microns and will not survive water or rust scale coming out of a jobsite fuel caddy. This element is a tall cartridge, around 272 mm high by 118 mm across with an M95 x 2 thread, so it holds real volume and can shed water into the bowl rather than loading up in a week.
