Genuine Volvo 20532237 Coolant Filter

This one is not an OEM spec replacement, which is how the catalogue had it recorded. The can itself is printed Volvo Genuine Parts, with the part number 20532237 and the description in both English and Swedish, coolant filter and kylvatskefilter. Volvo prints their own filters, so the branding on the can is the proof.

A coolant filter does two jobs on a Volvo diesel. It catches casting sand, scale and gasket debris circulating in the cooling system, and it slowly releases supplemental coolant additive to keep the liner surfaces from cavitating. That second job is the one people forget about. Skipping coolant filter changes on a wet liner engine is how you end up with pitted liners and coolant in the oil.

• Spin on coolant filter, genuine Volvo printed can
• Filters scale and debris out of the cooling system
• Releases supplemental coolant additive to protect wet liners from cavitation
• Published Volvo cross references include 21192875, 1699830 and 1661964
